A reinforced concrete worker builds formwork, places reinforcement to plan and places, compacts and cures concrete. Everyday work includes physical site labour, dimensional accuracy, safety and coordination with site management, carpenters and other trades – often under weather influence and deadline pressure.
- Build, erect, align and strip formwork; execute joints and connections properly.
- Cut, bend and install reinforcement; check spacers, cover and lap zones to plan.
- Place, compact and cure concrete; set precast elements and make connections.
- Read drawings and rebar schedules, take measurements and check plumb, level and accuracy.
